How to play

Take turns with Red Pen drawing one line between two dots. Close a box and it's yours, and you go again.
Each box you win shows its letter in the hidden answer. Boxes Red Pen wins keep their letter hidden.
A different game each day, getting harder through the week: Monday phrase · Tuesday landmark and city · Wednesday city and country · Thursday phrase · Friday song and artist, or film and actor on alternate weeks (6×6 board) · Saturday hard phrase · Sunday word day.
You start with no clues. Some boxes hide a clue (marked ?): win the box to read it free, or buy it for 50 (tap twice). If you then win its box anyway, you get the 50 back.
Stuck? Show best move costs 50. Skip my turn makes Red Pen move instead for 100.
Once the board is full, tap a red +25 box to buy its letter.
Guess the answer on your turn whenever you think you've got it. You get 3 guesses. Score: 100 for solving, +20 for every letter still unclaimed, +5 per box, plus a speed bonus (under 1 min +150, 2 min +100, 3 min +50, 4 min +25, 5 min +10).
Sunday word day: every box has a letter. Win as many as you can, then you get up to 5 minutes to make words from your letters (3 letters or more, each letter once per word). Letters have Scrabble values (shown in the corner): most are 1, but J and X are 8, Q and Z are 10. A word scores its letter values × 5, plus a length bonus: 3 letters +10, 4 +20, 5 +35, 6 +55, 7 +80, 8 or more +110 and up.
Later days are worth more (×1 on Monday up to ×3 on Sunday). Monday to Sunday adds up to a weekly total, then it starts again.
Everyone gets the same board and Red Pen plays the same way, so scores are comparable.
